Questioning the status quo, and RAISING the standard of HIV prevention in America since 2002.
Safe sex is a freedom of choice issue, and a choice we will continue to respect.
It was back in the early 2000's, I think from 2002 - 2008 where I adopted a park here in New York City, where gay men had sex with other gay men. I told GMHC, The Health Department of The City of New York and The Health Department of The State of New York about it. And they had no problem with my plan, in fact, GMHC, CHEST and The NYCDOH supplied me with the safe sex packets.
Today, July 2014 I have restarted my Adopt-A-Park program but with a focus on our HIV-negative gay youth. True, barebacking is popular and here in New York City, NY condoms are outlawed by the HIV agencies, organizations and NYCDOH, BUT I am HIV+ since the early 1980s and will do my part to help stop HIV. Until my last dying breath.
The safe sex packets are available at the park which is within the NYC limits and a cruising spot for gay MSM (men who have sex with men). More details to follow shortly.
